Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is “Medical Massage”?

Think of it as massage therapy with a specific goal. While a spa massage is designed for general relaxation, a medical massage focuses on a specific health issue—like chronic back pain, a sports injury, or recovery from surgery. We use our 30–50 years of experience to help your body heal and function better.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see you?

In most cases, no. You can book an appointment with us directly. However, if you are seeking treatment for a specific medical condition or surgery recovery, we are always happy to coordinate with your healthcare provider to ensure the best results.

How is this different from a regular massage chain?

The biggest difference is our level of expertise and personal investment. We are owner-operated, meaning the people running the business are the ones providing the care. You aren’t just a client on a rotating schedule; you are a valued member of our community being treated by some of the most experienced therapists in the industry.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Your comfort is our priority. Most medical massages are performed with the client undressed to their comfort level under a professional drape (sheets/blankets). However, some integrative techniques can be done over loose-fitting clothing. Your therapist will discuss the best approach for your specific treatment during the consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

Because everyone’s body is different, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. After your initial assessment, your therapist will provide an honest recommendation based on your goals—whether you need a single session for acute relief or a series of visits to resolve a long-term issue.
